The Chicago Bears terminated linebacker Sam Acho's contract Saturday, the team announced in a press release.
In a corresponding move, the Bears promoted linebacker Lamin Barrow to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
Acho signed a one-year deal with the Bears in April. The veteran linebacker recorded 31 tackles, a sack, and an interception last season as a member of the Arizona Cardinals.
While the Bears did not disclose a reason for Acho's release, the 27-year-old was cut due to an undisclosed illness, ESPN's Jeff Dickerson reports.
