GM Jerry Reese indicated that he expects Wilson (neck) to be cleared for contact in advance of training camp, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis:
The report notes that Wilson is already on the field taking reps, so once he's cleared for contact, he'll be able to make a case to reclaim a role in the Giants' ground game this coming season. When healthy, he can be a dynamic back but will have plenty of competition for touches, notably from free-agent addition Rashad Jennings, fourth-round draft pick Andre Williams, and veteran back Peyton Hillis.
