Report: NFL amends rules to ban hoodies

The NFL implemented a new rule for the upcoming season, banning players from wearing hoodies over their shoulder pads, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert.

As a member of the Green Bay Packers, James Jones started donning hooded sweatshirts during the 2015 season, leaving some confused about the legality of the garment. Jones is a free agent.

Jones' hoodie blocked his last name from being visible on his jersey, and because it was a uniform policy infringement, a vote from the league's owners wasn't needed, per Seifert.

The NFL also confirmed that head coaches are the only coaches that would be allowed on the field once the game kicks off.
