Former UCF transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel is flipping his commitment from UCLA to Oklahoma, he announced Monday.

The addition will provide a big boost to an Oklahoma quarterback room that lost Caleb Williams to the transfer portal. Williams also announced Monday he'll seek other options, though he didn't rule out returning to the Sooners.

Gabriel announced he was headed to UCLA in December. He was expected to begin classes at the school Monday before the shocking news of his commitment to Oklahoma, according to Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman.

Gabriel decided to depart UCF after three seasons at the school. He compiled 8,037 yards, 70 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions with the Knights.

His best year came in 2020 when he threw for a career-high 32 touchdowns to four interceptions. A broken collarbone ended his 2021 campaign after just three games.
