Tristan Thompson has played with a lot of talented players over his eight seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he believes Kyrie Irving will be a Hall of Famer.
"There’s nothing to argue," Thompson told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes. "The man (Irving) has a gold medal, he’s an NBA champion, he’s an All-Star Game MVP, and he’s made multiple big shots in his career."
"First of all, you should almost do a filter," he added. "You know when you’re looking for a house on the apps? You do like a filter? How about you put Kyrie’s resumé and then put the filter and see how many guys that show up that have that. You’d be surprised how many of those guys (Hall of Famers) aren’t on that.”
Irving and Thompson were drafted first and fourth overall, respectively, in the 2011 NBA Draft. The duo played six seasons together, a period that included three straight NBA Finals appearances.
Irving drilled a go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute of Game 7 in the 2016 NBA Finals that's come to be known as "The Shot."
The Cavs went on to defeat the Golden State Warriors 93-89, breaking the city of Cleveland's 52-year championship drought.
