The Denver Nuggets are waiving center Jonas Valanciunas, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
The veteran big man is expected to receive interest from multiple teams, adds Charania.
Valanciunas' $10-million salary was set to become fully guaranteed Wednesday. The Nuggets will still take on a $2-million cap hit after waiving him, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN.
Denver has the option of stretching Valanciunas' salary over the next three seasons, adds Marks.
Valanciunas averaged 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds across 65 appearances last season. The 34-year-old remained a force on the glass in a reduced role, ranking eighth in the Association with 13.6 rebounds per 36 minutes.
The Toronto Raptors selected Valanciunas with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 draft. The Lithuanian spent his first six-and-a-half seasons with the Raptors before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2019.
Valanciunas' other previous stops include the New Orleans Pelicans, Washington Wizards, and Sacramento Kings.
