Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has been charged by UEFA for post-match comments made on social media on the topic of match officials and VAR following his club's Champions League defeat to Manchester United.

UEFA announced the decision Friday, citing, "Insulting / molesting acts against match official."

The governing body added that its Control, Ethics, and Disciplinary Body will handle the case, with the date for a hearing not yet confirmed.

Neymar, who was injured for the last-16 second-leg clash at the Parc des Princes, berated match officials in the tunnel following the contentious VAR decision to award United a late penalty for a handball on PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe. Neymar also launched a tirade on Instagram aimed at the referee and video review technology.

"This is a disgrace, they put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR," Neymar said on Instagram, according to Sky Sports. "There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back! Go **** yourselves!"
