Islanders' Nilsson signs with KHL's Ak Bars Kazan

New York Islanders goaltender Anders Nilsson has decided to take his talents to Tatarstan, signing a contract with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL, as per Igor Eronko of Sports.ru.
Drafted in the third round of the 2009 draft, the Swedish goaltender appeared in 19 games for the Islanders during the 2013-14 regular season, posting a record of 8-7-2 with a save percentage of .896.
After signing Jaroslav Halak to a four-year deal and with Evgeni Nabokov possibly in the mix as the backup, the Islanders appear set in net for the time being, hence Nilsson's decision to move on.
