Anahiem Ducks center Mason McTavish has emerged as a potential trade target for the Ottawa Senators, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen reports.

The Senators have been eyeing a top-six forward to partner with center Tim Stutzle, a source told Garrioch. Though McTavish is a center, he is capable of playing on the wing.

It's believed the Ducks' asking price for McTavish involves a first-round pick and an immediate contributor, Garrioch adds. The Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadiens are among the other teams that reportedly could show interest.

The 23-year-old put up 41 points in 75 games this season. His 17 goals were his fewest in three years. McTavish's struggles led to him being a healthy scratch for two games during the Ducks' playoff series against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Senators general manager Steve Staios hired McTavish's father as a pro scout in 2023, according to Garrioch.
