The New Jersey Devils drafted Jesper Boqvist with the 36th overall pick at the 2017 NHL Draft on Saturday.

Boqvist has bounced around the Swedish levels over the past two seasons, playing 15 games with Brynas' J20 team in 2016-17 before being called up to the men's squad for a 16-game sample. He was also loaned to Timra IK of Allsvenskan for 19 contests, where he contributed 12 points.
Boqvist finished the hockey year as the 10th-ranked European skater by NHL Central Scouting, but he'll likely need a few more seasons of development in Sweden or the AHL before he'll be able to make an NHL roster.
