Dion Phaneuf was up to his old tricks Monday night.
The Ottawa Senators defenseman caught Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust with a crushing open-ice hit just over five minutes into the first period of Game 2.
Rust was clearly shaken up on the play, and after taking a few minutes on the bench to collect himself, he walked back to the team's dressing room. He didn't return to the game, and there was no update on his condition after Pittsburgh's 1-0 win.
