The Baltimore Ravens are expected to hire Anthony Weaver as their defensive coordinator, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Weaver will return to Baltimore, where he played for the Ravens from 2002 to 2005 and later served as defensive line coach and run game coordinator from 2021 to 2023. The 45-year-old spent the past two campaigns as the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator.

The Dolphins' defense ranked among the league's top 10 in 2024, allowing 314.3 yards and 21.4 points per game. However, the unit struggled in 2025, surrendering 348.8 yards and 24.9 points per contest.

Weaver reportedly interviewed for the Ravens' head coaching position before the franchise hired Jesse Minter. Weaver won't call plays in his new position, as Minter announced he'll handle defensive play-calling duties.

Baltimore had difficulty stopping offenses this season, giving up 247.9 passing yards per game and falling outside the top 10 in points allowed (23.4).

Minter continues to fill out his staff following his hire last week. The first-year coach reportedly named 29-year-old Declan Doyle to run the Ravens' offense. He joins offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford and secondary coach Mike Mickens as new additions.
