Ravens inking Cooper Rush to reported 2-year deal
The Baltimore Ravens are signing quarterback Cooper Rush to a two-year deal worth $6.2 million, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.
Rush can earn up to $12.2 million based on incentives with $4.2 million guaranteed, Zrebiec reports.
The Ravens add a veteran passer behind star Lamar Jackson. Baltimore relied on Josh Johnson last season to fill out its depth. Johnson is currently an unrestricted free agent.
Rush provides starting experience after spending seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He led the club to a 4-4 mark after Dak Prescott sustained a season-ending hamstring injury. The 31-year-old passed for 1,844 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions with a 60.7% completion rate in 2024.
Rush is credited with helping the Cowboys remain in playoff contention in 2022 after Prescott fractured his thumb, going 4-1. He has appeared in 38 games over his career and thrown for 3,463 yards, 20 TDs, and 10 INTs.
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones previously spoke highly of Rush but was unsure what his price tag would be.
"When we're paying Dak what we're paying him, unfortunately, we do have to go cheap there," Jones said about Rush at the NFL combine, per The Dallas Morning News.
After negotiating extensions for Prescott and CeeDee Lamb last year, Dallas is expected to hand star pass-rusher Micah Parsons a lucrative new deal entering the final year of his rookie contract. The Cowboys currently have $41.7 million in cap space, per Over the Cap.
Prescott and Will Grier are currently the only quarterbacks on Dallas' roster with Trey Lance an unrestricted free agent.
