The Dallas Cowboys and free-agent safety Keanu Neal agreed to terms on a one-year, $ 5-million contract, the team announced Saturday.

The 25-year-old will provide a veteran presence in Dallas' secondary. Selected 17th overall by the Atlanta Falcons in 2016, Neal spent five seasons with the Falcons but missed the 2018 season due to a torn ACL and the 2019 campaign because of a torn Achilles tendon.

Neal racked up 100 tackles, two passes defended, and an interception in his return to the field last season.

Prior to his season-ending injuries, Neal earned a Pro Bowl nod after tallying 116 tackles, six passes defended, three forced fumbles, and one interception in 2017.

He'll reunite with former Atlanta head coach and current Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

Neal joins fellow Cowboys safeties Donovan Wilson and Darian Thompson. Former starting strong safety Xavier Woods currently remains a free agent.
