Safety Marcus Williams has accepted the franchise tag from the New Orleans Saints, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Saints now must pay him $10.6 million in 2021, according to Over The Cap. The two sides will keep working toward a long-term deal before the July 15 deadline to sign franchise-tagged players to extensions, Rapoport adds.

Williams is the final franchise-tagged player to sign his tender this offseason.

The 24-year-old will suit up for his fifth campaign with the Saints after New Orleans made him a second-round pick in 2017. The Utah product was immediately effective in the secondary, starting 15 games as a rookie.

The California native has hauled in 13 career interceptions, including three picks to go along with seven pass deflections last season, in addition to 59 tackles.
