Report: Mack Wilson escapes fine for hit on Mahomes
The NFL won't fine Cleveland Browns linebacker Mack Wilson for the tackle that put Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in concussion protocol last week, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Mahomes was helped off the field during the divisional-round game after Wilson hit him on a third-down run. His head didn't seem to make hard contact with the turf, but he was taken down by the head/neck area.
Patrick Mahomes is headed to the locker room after taking this hit.

Wilson, who was criticized for the hit on social media, showed support to Mahomes after the contest.

Never been a dirty player in my life. I just try my best to play fast and make plays. Don’t try to insult me & keep the threats to yourself. 💯

Mahomes didn't return to the matchup, but the Chiefs still escaped with a victory. The Super Bowl MVP has since cleared concussion protocol and is set to start Sunday's AFC title game versus the Buffalo Bills.
Kansas City is hosting the conference championship for the third consecutive season.
