Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay doesn't appear to be planning any additional trips Down Under anytime soon after last week's dismal performance.
"We're not playing in Australia ever again, I hope," McVay said, per ESPN. "Not because it wasn't a great atmosphere; that'll get taken out of context."
McVay may not get his wish, as the NFL struck a multi-year agreement to stage games in Australia, and the Rams are one of four teams to have marketing rights in the country.
L.A. was battered 27-7 by the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne in its season opener last week. The Rams' decision to arrive in Australia the day before kickoff drew heavy scrutiny after the lopsided result, especially since San Francisco made the trip a week earlier.
"It's almost like you try to do the 'Men in Black' thing where you say, 'Hey, I don't remember what happened. That was so long ago," McVay said.
The Rams, who entered the regular season as Super Bowl favorites, are scheduled to take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Los Angeles will look to record its first win of the season without prized offseason acquisition Myles Garrett, who's sidelined following knee surgery after an underwhelming debut with the club.
