"Preliminary indications are positive" after Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a neck injury in Sunday's win over the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Monday.

"Jack Campbell continues to rest and recover at a local hospital. Preliminary indications are positive, and out of respect for Jack and his family, we will not share further information at this time," the team said in a statement.

Campbell was injured while tackling Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson in the fourth quarter. Campbell remained lying face down on the field without moving after the tackle, and medical staff attended to him.

He was placed on a backboard, carted off the field, and taken to a hospital. He remained hospitalized overnight.

The Lions selected Campbell in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He's made one Pro Bowl and started 53 games for the franchise.
