A middleweight fight between Jared Cannonier and Michael "Venom" Page has been added to UFC 319, the promotion announced Friday.The bout is expected to be part of the pay-per-view main card, according to <a href="https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/story/sports/ufc/2025/06/13/ufc-319-jared-cannonier-vs-michael-page-chicago-mma-fight-announcement-matchup/84185725007/">MMA Junkie</a>. The card - which takes place Aug. 16 in Chicago - will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev.Page is 2-1 since debuting in the UFC in March 2024. The former Bellator star moved from welterweight to middleweight to defeat Sharabutdin Magomedov in his most recent Octagon appearance in February.<div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div>Meanwhile, Cannonier snapped a two-fight losing streak by defeating Gregory Rodrigues in February. He also missed at least two games in each of the past two seasons, including four last year. Green Bay seemingly didn't take any of that into account.Underpaid: Zach Tom AAV: $1M (RT67) 4-year rookie deal worth $4.1MFew offensive tackles are more reliable than Tom, who hasn't missed a start in two seasons. He gives the Packers excellent value as a 2022 fourth-round pick on a rookie deal. Green Bay pays less than $2 million per year on average for its starting tackles, Tom and Rasheed Walker.<h3><a id="LAR" name="LAR">Los Angeles Rams</a></h3>Overpaid: Tutu Atwell AAV: $10M (WR32) Signed 1-year, $10M deal in 2025Los Angeles is taking a risk with Atwell's fully guaranteed contract. The total amount may not be absurd, but it's more than expected given his production. The former second-round pick, projected to be L.A.'s No. 3 receiver, hasn't caught a touchdown since 2023.Underpaid: Puka Nacua AAV: $1M (WR233) 4-year rookie deal worth $4.1MThe Rams have had more than a few recent draft steals, so they roster multiple starters under rookie deals. That includes Nacua, a fan favorite and already one of football's best receivers. The 2023 fifth-round pick has recorded 184 catches, 2,476 yards, and nine touchdowns in two NFL seasons.<h3><a id="MIN" name="MIN">Minnesota Vikings</a></h3>Overpaid: Will Fries AAV: $17.5M (G10) Signed 5-year, $87.7M deal in 2025Minnesota is gambling with Fries, who inked a huge deal after missing most of last season due to a fractured tibia. He made 33 appearances with Indianapolis from 2022-23 but didn't perform like a top-10 guard, allowing 50 pressures, according to PFF.Underpaid: Jordan Addison AAV: $3.4M (WR65) 4-year rookie deal worth $13.7MAddison ranks fifth with 19 receiving touchdowns over the last two seasons, and he's also in the top 30 for yards. The 2023 first-round pick, who forms a premier duo with Justin Jefferson, remains on his rookie contract.<h3><a id="NO" name="NO">New Orleans Saints</a></h3>Overpaid: Chase Young AAV: $17M (EDGE20) Signed 3-year, $51M deal in 2025Young's average salary doesn't match his production. However, his availability has been a big issue. Over the last four seasons, the 26-year-old has missed 23 games, 18 of which have come after he signed his huge extension with the Giants.Underpaid: Malik Nabers AAV: $7.3M (WR38) 4-year rookie deal worth $29.2MNabers is a former No. 6 overall pick, so his salary isn't bad at all. Until he breaks the bank with an extension, New York will have a sensational receiver on a discount, though. He caught 109 passes - the second-most ever by a rookie, trailing only fellow freshman Brock Bowers - for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024.<h3><a id="PHI" name="PHI">Philadelphia Eagles </a></h3>Overpaid: Jake Elliott AAV: $6M (K2) Signed 4-year, $24M extension in 2024With Bryce Huff traded to San Francisco, the Eagles don't really have a terrible contract on their books. However, Elliott's 2024 regular season was far from what Philly expected after making him one of the NFL's top-paid kickers last year. Elliott converted only 77.8% of his field-goal attempts, the league's seventh-worst mark. He improved in the playoffs but still had his first postseason FG miss as well as three missed extra points.Underpaid: Jalen Carter AAV: $5.4M (DL43) 4-year rookie deal worth $21.8MThe Eagles roster several players on great contracts, but none of them offers a better value than Carter, an All-Pro lineman who's entering the third year of his rookie deal. The 2023 top-10 pick could become the league's highest-paid D-lineman in a couple of years.<h3><a id="SEA" name="SEA">Seattle Seahawks</a></h3>Overpaid: Noah Fant AAV: $10.5M (TE11) Signed 2-year, $21M deal in 2024Multiple Seahawks players are signed to contracts with poor value, but it's hard not to go with Fant here. He's scored one touchdown in his last 31 games, and his 500 receiving yards last year ranked 18th among tight ends.Underpaid: Riq Woolen AAV: $998K (CB212) 4-year rookie deal worth $3.9MJaxon Smith-Njigba would've been an obvious answer here, but the 1,000-yard receiver's average salary ($3.6 million) is significantly higher than Woolen's. They're both under rookie contracts, but Woolen is a former fifth-rounder who's already been to the Pro Bowl and amassed 11 interceptions in three seasons, including an NFL-high six in 2022.<h3><a id="SF" name="SF">San Francisco 49ers </a></h3>Overpaid: Brandon Aiyuk AAV: $30M (WR7) Signed 4-year, $120M deal in 2024Aiyuk inked a massive extension after becoming an All-Pro in 2023, the fourth year of his rookie contract. That remains his only great NFL season, though. A torn ACL ended Aiyuk's 2024 prematurely, but he averaged only 2.4 yards of separation before the injury, according to <a href="https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/receiving#average-separation">Next Gen Stats</a>.Underpaid: Dominick Puni AAV: $1.4M (G66) 4-year rookie deal worth $5.7MPuni exceeded expectations as a rookie right guard, starting every offensive snap for the 49ers en route to finishing the season as a top-10 guard, according to PFF. His impressive workload, combined with his low salary, deservedly resulted in a large payout from the league's <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6197683/2025/03/12/nfl-performance-based-pay-2024-jamien-sherwood/">performance-based pay</a>.<h3><a id="TB" name="TB">Tampa Bay Buccaneers</a></h3>Overpaid: Antoine Winfield Jr. AAV: $21M (SAF2) Signed 4-year, $84M deal in 2024Winfield is a very good player. That's not in question. But his injury history could make his contract situation look bad for Tampa Bay. He's topped 1,000 yards two times and caught 10 touchdowns last campaign. However, the 26-year-old is making almost $30 million annually, a hefty price for someone who's struggled to stay healthy and averages under 950 receiving yards per season.Underpaid: Trey Hendrickson AAV: $21M (EDGE13) Signed 1-year, $21M extension in 2023There's a reason Hendrickson's contract situation is such a big storyline right now. Cincinnati has been getting elite production at a premier position from a player who doesn't even rank in the top 10 for average annual salary among edge rushers. The 30-year-old leads the NFL with 35 sacks since 2023.<h3><a id="CLE" name="CLE">Cleveland Browns </a></h3>Overpaid: Deshaun Watson AAV: $46M (QB13) Signed 5-year, $230M deal in 2022The Watson trade will likely go down as the worst in NFL history, and the fully guaranteed, $230-million contract Cleveland gave to the quarterback gets worse by the day. The 29-year-old isn't expected to play in 2025 after sustaining a second Achilles injury.Underpaid: Mohamoud Diabate AAV: $906K (LB236) 3-year rookie deal worth $2.7MAn undrafted free agent in 2023, Diabate was a nice surprise for the Browns last year. Jones AAV: $13M (DL22) Signed 3-year, $39M deal in 2025Jones' big deal came as a surprise this offseason. The ninth-year veteran is still a good player, but he received a significant pay raise despite turning 30 in January and seemingly regressing as a pass-rusher.Underpaid: Bo Nix AAV: $4.6M (QB39) 4-year rookie deal worth $18.6MDenver rosters some defenders with excellent contract value, but it's hard not to go with Nix here. Stroud AAV: $9M (QB29) 4-year rookie deal worth $36.3MAny franchise quarterback on a rookie contract will be vastly underpaid, and that's the case with Stroud. With the 2023 No. 2 pick, Houston has won back-to-back AFC South titles.<h3><a id="IND" name="IND">Indianapolis Colts</a></h3>Overpaid: Jonathan Taylor AAV: $14M (RB4) Signed 3-year, $42M deal in 2023To be fair to Taylor here, the 26-year-old rushed for 1,431 yards and 11 touchdowns last year. However, the former All-Pro fumbled four times and continues to have minimal impact as a pass-catcher and blocker. Plus, he's only played one full season since entering the NFL (2021).Underpaid: Jaylon Jones AAV: $988K (CB256) 4-year rookie deal worth $3.9MJones, who recorded 100 tackles, 12 pass breakups, and two interceptions last season, claimed PFF's 35th-best coverage grade among eligible corners. Not bad for a 2023 seventh-round pick on a rookie deal. For his efforts, he received the second-biggest payout from the NFL performance-based pay distributions, which provide supplemental compensation based on playing time and salary levels.<h3><a id="JAX" name="JAX">Jacksonville Jaguars </a></h3>Overpaid: Trevor Lawrence AAV: $55M (QB2) Signed 5-year, $275M deal in 2024Jacksonville has multiple candidates for this spot, but how can you not go with Lawrence? The 2021 No. 1 pick hasn't come close to the early expectations for him in the NFL, but his deal is tied for the second-highest average salary in league history and includes $142 million fully guaranteed.Underpaid: Brian Thomas Jr. AAV: $3.6M (WR59) 4-year rookie deal worth $14.6MIn one season, Thomas showed that he may already be Jacksonville's best offensive player. The 22-year-old set Jaguars rookie records in 2024 with 87 catches, 10 touchdowns, and 1,282 receiving yards - the third-most in the NFL.<h3><a id="KC" name="KC">Kansas City Chiefs</a></h3>Overpaid: Jawaan Taylor AAV: $20M (RT3) Signed 4-year, $80M deal in 2023It's pretty absurd that the only right tackles with a higher average salary than Taylor are All-Pro linemen Penei Sewell and Lane Johnson. Since the Chiefs signed Taylor to a monster deal, he's allowed 102 pressures and 12 sacks while committing over 30 penalties, according to PFF.Underpaid: Patrick Mahomes AAV: $45M (QB14) Signed 10-year, $450M deal in 2020Remember when the Chiefs signed Mahomes to the richest contract in North American sports history? It's the NFL's best bargain, as the three-time Super Bowl MVP isn't even in the top 10 in average salary among QBs. Kansas City has Mahomes signed through the 2031 season and recently restructured the deal to pay him more in the next couple of years.<h3><a id="LAC" name="LAC">Los Angeles Chargers</a></h3>Overpaid: Derwin James AAV: $19.1M (SAF3) Signed 4-year, $76.5M deal in 2022James has had a top-three average salary among safeties for years. His 2024 season was good (maybe the best since his rookie year), but he's had only two interceptions since '23. Additionally, James has struggled with missed tackles and gained a reputation as a dirty player. That said, his average salary of just over $4 million has given Los Angeles great value for a Pro Bowler whose market value is projected to be north of $20 million.<h3><a id="LV" name="LV">Las Vegas Raiders</a></h3>Overpaid: Christian Wilkins AAV: $27.5M (DL2) Signed 4-year, $110M deal in 2024A year ago, the Raiders made a huge commitment to Wilkins, an underrated lineman who elevated his pass-rushing ability in 2023. But he's never been a Pro Bowler. A foot injury limited the 29-year-old's first season in Las Vegas to five games, and the latest on his rehab <a href="https://x.com/VinnyBonsignore/status/1925366480394158163">isn't encouraging</a>.Underpaid: Brock Bowers AAV: $4.5M (TE31) 4-year rookie deal worth $18MAs a rookie, Bowers showed he might become the sport's highest-paid tight end in a couple of years. Until then, the Raiders can enjoy paying less than $5 million per year for a top-three TE.<h3><a id="MIA" name="MIA">Miami Dolphins</a></h3>Overpaid: Tua Tagovailoa AAV: $53.1M (QB6) Signed 4-year, $212.4M deal in 2024Tagovailoa has been good, not great, and that's not enough for a QB signed to one of the biggest contracts ever. The 27-year-old's accuracy makes him the right guy for Miami's system, but availability has been a major concern for him.Underpaid: De'Von Achane AAV: $1.3M (RB53) 4-year rookie deal worth $5.4MOne of the NFL's fastest players, Achane has become a key member of the Dolphins' offense since being drafted in Round 3 in 2023. The third-year tailback recorded 2,496 yards and 23 touchdowns from scrimmage across his first two seasons.<h3><a id="NE" name="NE">New England Patriots</a></h3>Overpaid: Milton Williams AAV: $26M (DL3) Signed 4-year, $104M deal in 2025Williams just had a career year and was a monster in the Super Bowl. But he now has the highest average annual salary in Patriots history despite never claiming a Pro Bowl nod. That's a lot of money for an interior lineman who played less than 50% of the defensive snaps with the Eagles.Underpaid: Christian Gonzalez AAV: $3.7M (CB44) 4-year rookie deal worth $15.1MAfter missing most of his rookie season due to injury, Gonzalez enjoyed an excellent 2024 campaign en route to a second-team All-Pro berth. The former top-20 pick is already one of the NFL's best corners.<h3><a id="NYJ" name="NYJ">New York Jets </a></h3>Overpaid: Brandon Stephens AAV: $12M (CB23) Signed 3-year, $36M deal in 2025This contract doesn't look good for the Jets ahead of the new season. Last year, Stephens - New York's third-highest-paid defender - didn't register an interception, allowed a 100-plus passer rating in coverage, and finished as PFF's 99th-ranked corner.Underpaid: Garrett Wilson AAV: $5.1M (WR48) 4-year rookie deal worth $20.5MWhile Jets fans have long been accustomed to disappointing QB play, Wilson's ability to reach 1,000 yards despite the team's struggles under center has become another constant. Heck, he might not even be in the top 10.Underpaid: Aaron Rodgers AAV: $13.6M (QB22) Signed 1-year, $13.6M deal in 2025Rodgers' contract with Pittsburgh made him the second-lowest-paid starting QB on a non-rookie deal. The likes of Justin Fields ($20 million) and Daniel Jones ($14 million) - who also signed with new teams this year - all have higher base salaries than Rodgers. Granted, the 41-year-old hasn't performed at an elite level for three seasons. But $13 million for a four-time MVP who just ranked in the top 10 for passing yards and touchdowns a year after an Achilles injury is a great deal. His contract can reportedly be worth up to $19.5 million with incentives.<h3><a id="TEN" name="TEN">Tennessee Titans</a></h3>Overpaid: Dan Moore Jr. AAV: $20.5M (LT7) Signed 4-year, $82M deal in 2025Moore's signing was one of free agency's most stunning contracts. The Titans are taking a massive gamble, as Moore allowed 12 sacks last year - his worst single-season mark. The former Steeler also gave up 97 pressures over the past two campaigns, according to PFF.Underpaid: T'Vondre Sweat AAV: $2.4M (DL71) 4-year rookie deal worth $9.5MIn the first year of his rookie deal, Sweat showed he can be a franchise cornerstone for the Titans, who drafted him in the second round. The Falcons have only one playoff win since, and it's too early to say Michael Penix Jr. will follow the footsteps of Matt Ryan and Michael Vick and lead Atlanta into deep postseason runs.<h3><a id="buf" name="buf">Buffalo Bills</a></h3>Deepest run: AFC title game Biggest villain: Patrick MahomesThe Bills haven't played in the Super Bowl since infamously losing four straight from 1991-94. Buffalo had the worst stretch in its history from 2000-16 but has made the playoffs six times and appeared in two AFC title bouts since drafting Josh Allen in '18. The Chiefs are the club's biggest rival, owning a 4-0 record against the Bills in the playoffs during the Mahomes era. Buffalo likely would've returned to the Big Game if it didn't have to go up against Kansas City as often.<h3><a id="car" name="car">Carolina Panthers</a></h3>Deepest run: SB XXXVIII, 50 runner-up Biggest villain: GOAT QBsCarolina has yet to win a Super Bowl but has made two Big Game appearances in the last 25 years. However, the Panthers fell short against Brady's Patriots (2004) and Peyton Manning's Broncos ('16), with both teams getting help from excellent defenses. While Carolina is a few years away from becoming a contender, this is a make-or-break season ahead with Bryce Young under center.<h3><a id="chi" name="chi">Chicago Bears</a></h3>Deepest run: SB XLI runner-up Biggest villain: Their own QBsPlayoff success hasn't been a thing for the Bears, but they made two deep runs from 2007-11. Chicago's biggest problem was its QBs: Rex Grossman and Caleb Hanie threw costly pick-6s against Manning's Colts and Aaron Rodgers' Packers in the Super Bowl and NFC championship, respectively. Since their last Super Bowl title in 1996, the Cowboys haven't advanced past the divisional round and have gone one-and-done eight times. The club has often rostered some of football's biggest stars but hasn't been able to deliver under pressure in January.<h3><a id="det" name="det">Detroit Lions</a></h3>Deepest run: NFC title game Biggest villain: Lack of talentThe Lions had a hard time building competitive and talented teams for most of the past 25 years, hitting rock bottom in 2008 by infamously going 0-16. In recent years, Dan Campbell and Co. have helped the franchise turn things around and build a juggernaut.<h3><a id="hou" name="hou">Houston Texans</a></h3>Deepest run: Divisional round Biggest villain: ChiefsThe Texans played their first NFL season in 2002 and faced early challenges as an expansion team. Houston has now been to the playoffs several times but has been sent home by Kansas City on three occasions. Kicker Nate Kaeding had costly misses in 2005 and '10, and injuries limited Rivers, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Antonio Gates in 2008-09. Competing in the AFC with New England and Pittsburgh made things harder. When the Chargers were seemingly ready to eliminate the Patriots, Marlon McCree <a href="https://x.com/UnknownModeX/status/1614064678325391360">fumbled</a> while trying to return a Brady interception. L.A. is 0-2 in the playoffs with Justin Herbert, including a 2023 loss to Jacksonville after blowing a 27-0 lead.<h3><a id="lv" name="lv">Las Vegas Raiders</a></h3>Deepest run: SB XXXVII runner-up Biggest villain: The draftThe Raiders had an impressive run in the early 2000s, reaching the AFC title game, divisional round (the "Tuck Rule Game"), and Super Bowl in three straight seasons. However, that success has waned. Hampered by constant coaching turnover and repeated failures in the draft, the team has struggled to remain competitive since. No franchise has been <a href="https://x.com/NFLRookieWatxh/status/1732185619802026412">as bad as</a> the Raiders in adding first-round studs.<h3><a id="mia" name="mia">Miami Dolphins</a></h3>Deepest run: Wild-card round Biggest villain: CoachingForget the Super Bowl, Miami hasn't won a playoff game since 2001, and there are several reasons behind the drought. The Dolphins didn't really have a QB plan after Dan Marino retired in 2000, but their biggest problem was the number of bad head coaching hires (11 sideline bosses since '04, including interim jobs, is too many). Additionally, the competition in the AFC has been extremely tough for decades. A little luck wouldn't hurt; the Vikings won 14 games last year and still finished second in their division. It looks like they're on the right track, though.<h3><a id="nyj" name="nyj">New York Jets</a></h3>Deepest run: AFC title game Biggest villain: PowerhousesThe Jets last made the playoffs in the 2010 campaign, but they appeared in the postseason often before their long drought began. The problem for New York was that it repeatedly had to go up against the AFC's biggest powerhouses of the 2000s. The Steelers, Patriots, and Colts eliminated the Jets four times (twice in the AFC title game) between 2005-11.<h3><a id="sf" name="sf">San Francisco 49ers</a></h3>Deepest run: SB XLVII, LIV, LVIII runner-up Biggest villain: Patrick MahomesThe 49ers have enjoyed great seasons since 2000, three of which led to Super Bowl appearances (2013, '20, and '24), including two against the Chiefs. San Francisco held fourth-quarter leads over K.C. on both occasions but couldn't stop Mahomes and Co.<h3><a id="ten" name="ten">Tennessee Titans</a></h3>Deepest run: SB XXXIV runner-up Biggest villain: The 1-yard lineTennessee has recorded multiple deep postseason runs in the past 25 years, but its best campaign came when it faced the St. Louis Rams in the 2000 Super Bowl.
