"Love the development that he's had over the course of this entire offseason."</p><p>Rattler and Shough are the only QBs on the Saints' initial 53-man roster for the regular season. Watt (2014), and Marcus Jones (2022) are the only players in recent memory to record a touchdown catch and a pick-6 in the same season.</p><p><strong>Lead team in TD grabs, INTs</strong></p><p>This would also be a first in the Super Bowl era, as no player has topped a team in touchdown grabs and defensive interceptions in the same season since Chicago Bears Pro Bowler Gene Schroeder in 1951, per Koplowitz-Fleming. Leading Jacksonville in picks may be an easier task; no Jaguars player had more than one interception in 2024. But it'll be much harder to grab the No. 1 spot for receiving TDs, as the AFC South club found a stud in receiver Brian Thomas Jr. He caught 10 touchdowns as a rookie last year while every other player on the team had nine combined.</p><h3>Individual awards 🏆</h3><p><strong>Pro Bowl on offense and defense</strong></p><p>The NFL could encounter some unprecedented scenarios when it comes to Hunter and individual accolades. No first-year player has ever been named both Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year. Me, personally, I'm not no bandwagon guy," Lawrence said on "<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rTU0kx_oGA">The Pivot Podcast</a>."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"I'm not going to sit here and jump on a team because y'all have a good opportunity to go to the championship. It's more of, what am I needed for? If you already got that type of team, y'all don't need me. It's all about me bringing my attitude, my personality to a team to help us get where we need to be."</p><p>Lawrence played his first 11 seasons for the Dallas Cowboys, collecting 61.5 sacks and four Pro Bowl selections. The 32-year-old said he may have retired this offseason if not for his family.</p><p>"I was pretty close," Lawrence said. "But ... my kids and my wife weren't ready for me to hang it up. They told me, 'Why not give it another try?'"</p><p>The Seahawks gave Lawrence a three-year, $32.5-million contract in March, adding him to a team that hasn't made the playoffs since the 2022 season.</p><p>The Commanders were a surprise success story in 2024. <p>The SEC will implement a nine-game conference football schedule starting in 2026, the league announced Thursday.</p><p>SEC teams have played eight conference football games each season since 1992.</p><p>As part of the SEC's updated schedule, each school will play three annual opponents with a focus on traditional rivalries. Each team's remaining six league games will rotate among the remaining schools in the conference.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The new format will also have each team face every other SEC school at least once every two years and every opponent home and away in a four-year stretch.</p><p>The SEC is keeping its single-standing, non-divisional structure.</p><p>"Adding a ninth SEC game underscores our universities' commitment to delivering the most competitive football schedule in the nation," SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement. Anthony's," Jackson said.</p><p>Richardson finished the 2024 season with 11 appearances, completing 47.7% of his passes for 1,814 yards and eight touchdowns against 12 interceptions.</p><p>Indianapolis signed Jones to a one-year contract this offseason and held a QB1 competition at training camp. Richardson and Jones each started one preseason game.</p>

The 2022 third-round pick has topped 700 rushing yards in each of his first three NFL seasons and had a career-high eight touchdown runs in 2025 while averaging 4.3 yards per carry to go along with 20 receptions.</p><p>Robinson previously topped 1,000 scrimmage yards in 2023. <p>Several veterans are at risk of losing a roster spot as NFL teams have to trim down their roster to 53 players by Aug. 26. Here's a look at trade candidates and players who could be released before each club solidifies its roster.</p><h3>Kenny Pickett, QB, Browns</h3><p>Deshaun Watson won't play in 2025, so four quarterbacks headline Browns training camp: Joe Flacco, rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, and Pickett. With Cleveland unlikely to carry four QBs in the regular season, someone has to go. Flacco is the favorite to start and offers plenty of experience ahead of his 18th season. Gabriel is a third-round pick, and Sanders - a Round 5 selection - turned heads in his first preseason start. Pickett, who has 25 starts under his belt, landed with Cleveland in an offseason trade. Jacksonville also drafted Bhayshul Tuten in the fourth round this year. Etienne started the preseason opener, but he's worth monitoring as a potential trade candidate. Sending the former first-round pick to another team would save the Jaguars $6.1 million in salary-cap space.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><h3>Romeo Doubs, WR, Packers</h3><p>Reports out of training camp describe Doubs as one of Green Bay's most explosive pass-catchers. However, the Packers may have too many mouths to feed after using two top-100 picks on wideouts, including first-rounder Matthew Golden. They join Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks and Christian Watson on the depth chart. Reed and Watson are recovering from injuries but will have roles when healthy. Doubs was frustrated with his usage last year, so you have to wonder how Green Bay views the 25-year-old ahead of a contract year. The club would get $3.4 million in cap savings by moving him.</p><h3>Taysom Hill, TE, Saints</h3><p>The versatile Hill turns 35 this month and is still recovering from a torn ACL that will likely sideline him for at least part of the 2025 season. Additionally, the rebuilding Saints and first-year coach Kellen Moore should be trying to create opportunities for younger players. If Hill successfully recovers from his injury, a playoff contender could benefit from scooping up the NFL's best Swiss Army knife. He's scored 44 scrimmage touchdowns while passing for 11 touchdowns since entering the league. Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, and Kyle Williams top a revamped Patriots receiving corps that leaves Bourne on the outside looking in. He also injured his foot before the preseason opener. Bourne managed a breakout campaign under Josh McDaniels in 2021, but the wideout's reunion with the coordinator could be short-lived.</p><h3>Devin Singletary, RB, Giants</h3><p>When the Giants signed Singletary to a three-year contract in 2024, they expected him to be a steady hand for an offense that lacked an identity. But Tyrone Tracy Jr. surged to the top of the depth chart instead. New York has since added rookie Cam Skattebo, and Dante Miller is turning heads this preseason, making Singletary a potential casualty of the team's youth movement. The Giants would free up $1.5 million in much-needed cap space by cutting the soon-to-be 28-year-old.</p><h3>Darren Waller, TE, Dolphins</h3><p>Nearly two years removed from meaningful snaps, it's difficult to envision Waller regaining the form that helped him become a Pro Bowler in 2020. The veteran admitted he was unenthused during his one-year stint with the Giants in 2023 after they asked him to block more, but he says he rediscovered his passion during his brief retirement. The Dolphins need a tight end after trading Jonnu Smith. Waller is attempting to get up to speed, but he hasn't even been practicing, so don't be surprised if the Dolphins pull the plug on this project. Moving on from the 32-year-old would save Miami $2 million that the club is better served using elsewhere. </p><h3>Tyler Higbee, TE, Rams</h3><p>Higbee was once a staple of the Rams' offense, but he missed most of 2024 while rehabbing from a torn ACL. His snaps, targets, and maybe even roster spot could now be in danger with Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen, and Terrance Ferguson nipping at his heels. L.A. drafted Ferguson in the second round in April, presumably to serve as Higbee's replacement sooner or later. Higbee is on the wrong side of 30 and entering a contract year. The Pats would save $10.7 million in cap space while taking on $4.5 million in dead money by trading the versatile 29-year-old.</p><h3>Justin Jones, DL, Cardinals</h3><p>Jones inked a three-year, $31.1-million deal with Arizona after posting double-digit tackles for loss with the Bears in 2022 and '23. However, an injury limited him to three games in '24, and the team brought in significant competition this offseason in the form of Calais Campbell, Dalvin Tomlinson, and rookie Walter Nolen. <p>Cleveland Browns quarterback <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/210099" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/210099">Shedeur Sanders</a> isn't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced Wednesday, according to <a href="https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1955719299588317387">NFL Network's Ian Rapoport</a>.</p><p>Sanders left Wednesday's practice early after suffering an oblique injury during drills and didn't play the rest of the session.</p><p>"Further medical testing and examination on Shedeur Sanders revealed an oblique strain," the Browns said. "He is considered day-to-day, won't practice tomorrow, and is unlikely to play in the game on Saturday."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Sanders, a fifth-round pick this year, stood out in his preseason debut last week, completing 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards with two first-half touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers.</p><p>The Browns selected the Colorado product 144th overall in April, following one of the most controversial falls in NFL draft history.</p><p>The 23-year-old is one of four passers who top Cleveland's QB depth chart this year, along with <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/2945" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/2945">Joe Flacco</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/173994" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/173994">Kenny Pickett</a>, and rookie <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/209984" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/209984">Dillon Gabriel</a>.</p><p>Gabriel was sidelined last week against the Panthers due to a hamstring injury, but the third-round pick has practiced lately and is in line to start versus the Eagles, according to <a href="https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/pro/browns/2025/08/13/dillon-gabriel-browns-nfl-debut-eagles/85566638007/">Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal</a>.</p>
