He plans to appeal the suspension, a source told <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2003231161917821333?s=20">ESPN's Adam Schefter</a>.</p><p>"Metcalf's actions violate league policy, which specifies that 'players may not enter the stands or otherwise confront fans at any time on game day, and ... if a player makes unnecessary physical contact with a fan in any way that constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct or presents crowd-control issues and/or risk of injury, he will be held accountable,'" the NFL said in a statement.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The spectator has <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3435063" href="https://thescore.com/news/3435063">denied</a> allegations that he used a racial slur before Metcalf approached him. Metcalf has yet to publicly address the incident after not speaking to media postgame.</p><p>Metcalf's suspension would cost him $277,778 in salary per game. The 28-year-old's contract with Pittsburgh also states that his guarantees "will be null and void" if he "fails ... to practice or play with the club for any reason," according to <a href="https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/dk-metcalf-suspension-voids-40m-in-guarantees-gives-steelers-future-financial-out/">CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones</a>.</p><p>If Metcalf's suspension is upheld, the Steelers could choose to <a href="https://x.com/ProFootballTalk/status/2003325944979947894">void</a> his remaining guarantees worth $45 million in 2026 and 2027 combined. Metcalf would still be able to earn that money over the next two seasons.</p><p>Metcalf signed a four-year, $132-million extension with the Steelers in March after joining the team as part of a trade from the Seattle Seahawks.</p><p>The Steelers wide receiver finished the matchup against the Lions with four catches for 42 yards, helping his team claim a 29-24 triumph that moved Pittsburgh closer to the AFC North title. The team is one win away from clinching the division crown. </p><p>The Steelers face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday before ending their regular season against the Baltimore Ravens.</p>

I'm going to make sure these guys know I'm out there giving them everything I got."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Chiefs' home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last week officially removed them from the playoff picture, with <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/89514" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/89514">Patrick Mahomes</a> tearing his ACL in the defeat. </p><p>Kelce has yet to announce whether he'll return in 2026 for what would be his 14th NFL season. The 36-year-old's contract expires at the end of the 2025 campaign.</p><p>"I think I'd rather just keep the focus on this team, right now," Kelce said when asked about his future. "All the conversations that I have with the team moving forward will be with them. It's a unique time in my life. I've got three games left. Unfortunately, I've got three games left, and I know when the season ends."</p><p>The Chiefs, who've won three Super Bowl titles with Mahomes and Kelce, face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. They will then play the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day and the Las Vegas Raiders in their final two games of the season.</p>

Brady also sustained a torn ACL in Year 9 during the 2008 season, although the then-New England Patriots passer went down in the first game of that campaign.</p><p>"It's a tough rehab. It's one of the toughest rehabs," Brady said on an episode of the "Let's Go!" podcast published Tuesday, according to <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/tom-brady-offers-advice-to-patrick-mahomes-ahead-of-tough-rehab">NFL.com's Kevin Patra</a>. "I just remember every day pushing myself. And it's always the same amount of pain and discomfort, except you're making progress through that pain and discomfort, which is a hard psychological thing to battle. So, I wish him the very best."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Chiefs announced Monday that Mahomes underwent surgery on his left knee. Head coach Andy Reid had said that the superstar QB avoided major damage to his other ligaments, but Mahomes <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3428864" href="https://thescore.com/news/3428864">reportedly</a> also had a torn LCL repaired.</p><p>"The only thing you can do is focus on what's ahead of you and not look back," Brady added. "And just say, 'OK, this is part of what my career is going to be.' And a lot of people have gone through it, and a lot of people have overcome it.</p><p>"You've just got to put as much diligence into the rehab process. I always feel like the faster you rehab, the faster you can get back to practicing the sport that you know you love. I think sometimes people will pace themselves. Instead of training mode, they're in rehab mode. I think you gotta get through rehab mode as fast as possible and then you get back to training mode. But that requires an all-out commitment, and it's the same commitment that the great professional athletes make to be great at their profession."</p><p>Brady and Mahomes each won three Super Bowls before suffering a torn ACL.</p><p>Brady returned from his injury in 2009 with 4,398 passing yards and 28 touchdowns against 13 interceptions, claiming the Comeback Player of the Year award that season. The Patriots made the playoffs with a 10-6 record but lost in the wild-card round. Brady finished his career with seven Vince Lombardi Trophies.</p>
