Carolina Panthers star tight end Greg Olsen isn't expected to play against the New Orleans Saints as he deals with soreness in his foot, but the injury isn't thought to be a long-term issue, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Olsen sat out eight weeks on injured reserve, from Week 3 until Week 11, and made his return Sunday against the New York Jets. However, Olsen made just one catch before being forced to the sidelines.
Rapoport added the Panthers are simply being cautious with their top pass-catcher, who has three straight 1,000-yard seasons and is Cam Newton's go-to target.
