Report: Vikings lock up Linval Joseph with 4-year, $50M deal

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with defensive tackle Linval Joseph on a four-year extension worth $50 million, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

The deal includes $31.5 million in guarantees.

Joseph's previous deal, signed in 2014, was for five years and $31.5 million in total, so this represents a nice raise.

Joseph earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2016 and figures to be an essential piece of the Vikings' defensive line moving forward, particularly with fellow defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd's health still a major question mark.

The Vikings also locked up Everson Griffen and Xavier Rhodes this offseason, setting the stage for what could be a top-five defense this season and in the coming years.
