The Kansas City Chiefs are signing cornerback L'Jarius Sneed to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
He'd reportedly gone to Kansas City on a free-agent visit last week.
Sneed spent four years with the Chiefs (2020-23) before being traded to the Tennessee Titans in March 2024 for a package that included a third-round selection.
Upon being dealt to Tennessee, the 29-year-old signed a four-year, $76.4-million deal, becoming one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league.
However, Sneed's tenure with the Titans was short-lived, lasting just two seasons. He had multiple stints on injured reserve due to a quad injury, including when he missed the final 10 contests of the 2025 campaign.
Sneed played in 57 games with the Chiefs to begin his career, recording 40 passes defended, 10 interceptions, and four forced fumbles. He also helped the franchise hoist two Lombardi Trophies, producing 72 tackles and an interception in 13 postseason contests.
Kansas City will have a new-look secondary in 2026 after trading Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams. Jaylen Watson, who started 15 games last season, also joined the Rams after signing a multi-year contract in free agency.
The Chiefs traded up in the draft to select cornerback Mansoor Delane in the first round, and they also added Kaiir Elam and Kader Kohou in free agency.
