Maclin leaves Ravens visit without deal
Jeremy Maclin's visit with the Baltimore Ravens has concluded without the two sides striking a deal.
Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters Thursday that the team had a great meeting with the free-agent wide receiver, but that Maclin needs time to make his decision, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun.
Maclin's trip to Baltimore was the second of his surprise opportunity to test the free-agent market. His first visit after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs over the weekend was to the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It's unclear whether him taking some time with his decision means he'll now choose between the Bills and Ravens, or whether he intends to take other meetings.
Either way, it's safe to conclude the Bills and Ravens are the front-runners to sign him early on. Maclin would be a major upgrade to either club's receiving corps, giving Buffalo an established No. 2 alongside Sammy Watkins or potentially stepping in as Joe Flacco's top target in Baltimore.
Maclin was as advertised in his first season of a five-year, $55-million deal with the Chiefs, finishing the 2015 campaign with 87 receptions for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns.
Injuries limited him to just 12 games and seemingly impacted his effectiveness this past season, as he posted just 536 yards and two scores in what stands as the worst statistical showing of his career.
