Indiana missed a 38-yard field goal in overtime that appeared to go over the uprights, but the call was non-reviewable, allowing Duke to win the Pinstripe Bowl 44-41.
As the kick went up, Indiana kicker Griffin Oakes believed the kick was good. As Duke fans and players rushed the field to celebrate victory, Oakes rushed the officiating crew, demanding an explanation.
But nothing could be done, as Duke came out victorious in a bowl game for the first time in 54 years.

- Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson said after the game that he believed the kick was no good.
- This was Duke's first bowl win since 1961.
- The Pinstripe Bowl is also the first bowl to go to overtime in consecutive seasons, according to ESPN.
- Without Jordan Howard, it was tough to figure out if Devine Redding would be able to carry Indiana in the backfield. Needless to say, he did. Redding rushed for a game-high 227 yards and one touchdown.
- Hoosiers quarterback Nate Sudfeld was also dialed in, throwing for 389 yards and three touchdowns, although he chucked two picks in the process.
- For Duke, it was all about quarterback Thomas Sirk. The junior did it all, throwing for 163 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 155 yards and two scores.
- He left the game in overtime, though, with an apparent knee injury and was replaced by Parker Boehme.
- Shaun Wilson was a beast. The Duke running back rushed for 103 yards and a score, while racking up 164 return yards and a touchdown on a 98-yard kick return.
