The NCAA rules committee has proposed a change to college football that would see teams run alternating two-point attempts once a game reaches a fifth overtime.
The proposal comes after Texas A&M and LSU battled for seven overtimes in November, producing the highest-scoring contest in FBS history while tying a record for the longest game. The Aggies won 74-72 on a two-point attempt.
The committee also proposed a harsher targeting penalty, one in which a second targeting foul would net a disqualification from the contest and a one-game suspension.
