Clemson's Renfrow frustrated by redshirt rule that allows for transfers

It's safe to say Clemson receiver Hunter Renfrow isn't a fan of the NCAA's new redshirt players rule that allows for a midseason transfer.

Last week, the Tigers were rocked with the news that quarterback Kelly Bryant announced his intention to transfer after freshman Trevor Lawrence supplanted him as the team's starter.

"I don't like having to worry about that," Renfrow said, according to ESPN's David M. Hale. "Now Week 4 every year is going to be the trade deadline, and everyone is going to make decisions. I don't like that part of it. When you commit to a school, when you commit to a team, that's your team, right?"

Renfrow insisted he wasn't upset with Bryant, but he wouldn't have done the same if he was in the quarterback's shoes.

"It's what's best for him," Renfrow said. "It's kind of like, when you have a brother, and he makes a bad decision, you love him. Not that it was necessarily a bad decision, but just one you wouldn't make yourself. But I'm not him, and I'm not here every day in his shoes."

With Bryant's transfer and the injury to Lawrence, Renfrow has spent the past two weeks taking quarterback reps in practice and attending meetings. However, Lawrence is expected to start Saturday versus Wake Forest.
