Ole Miss freshman Charles Wiley arrested for domestic violence

Ole Miss freshman defensive end Charles Wiley was arrested Monday for misdemeanor domestic violence stemming from an altercation with a woman.

The woman was also arrested and charged with the same offense. Wiley was booked into Lafayette County Detention Center and released on bond Tuesday morning.

In a statement, Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze acknowledged the incident and said Ole Miss will keep Wiley out of team activities for the foreseeable future.

"We are aware of the situation and recognize the proper authorities responsible for the matter," Freeze said. "Charles is being withheld from all team activities while the process moves forward. We take incidents like this very seriously and will make decisions once the course of actions is complete."

Wiley was rated a four-star prospect and the No. 252 overall recruit by ESPN in the class of 2016.
