Antetokounmpo exceeded expectations as a rookie, starting 23 games and earning a spot in the Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend.
Analysis:
Selected 15th overall in the 2013 draft, Antetokounmpo was heralded as an extremely talented, but extremely raw prospect. While a player of his age and background – he previously played in a low-level Greek league – would typically spend a year or two stashed overseas or in the D-League, Antetokounmpo took the court as an 18-year-old and was one of the few bright spots for an otherwise hapless Bucks team. Though his numbers (6.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists) are not eye-popping, Antetokounmpo showed enough ability on both ends to warrant the hype that followed him for much of the season. Heading into his sophomore season, Antetokoumpo will need to improve his shot-creating ability, and adding a few pounds certainly wouldn't hurt. He ended the season coming off the bench, but he'll be in competition for a starting spot at shooting guard or small forward in 2014-15. With consistent and increased minutes, Antetokounmpo figures to once again be a solid all-category fantasy contributor. However, he looks to still be a few years away from being capable of shouldering a major offensive load on a nightly basis.
