The NBA fined Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets $35,000 each for violations regarding media access due to Irving's "repeated refusal" to participate in postgame interviews, the league announced Wednesday.

This is the second such fine for both Irving and the Nets organization.

Both parties were also hit with $25,000 penalties apiece before the start of the regular season in December after Irving released a written statement instead of speaking to reporters during media week. The 29-year-old responded to that fine with a statement on Instagram saying he doesn't talk to "pawns."

Players are obligated to be available for postgame interviews with media, according to NBA rules.
