Steve Kerr remains out indefinitely, and there's still no clarity regarding a potential return.
The Golden State Warriors head coach has been sidelined since the first round due to pain stemming from his two back surgeries in 2015. He underwent a procedure at Duke on Friday that general manager Bob Myers said is similar in nature to operations Kerr's had in the past. That's about all the new information the executive could offer, though.
"It's hard to answer some of this because even the doctors aren't entirely sure of recovery time, and that's why we've been a little indefinite about everything," Myers told reporters Sunday.
"We don't know, but the procedure went well as far as we know. Now it's a case of how it takes and when he might or might not be back. The good news is it's on the path to recovery, but I wish I could be more definitive."
He also expressed sadness in not having a more conclusive answer, and said the precarious nature of the situation is "difficult" for all involved, namely his colleague and dear friend Kerr.

Myers is just looking forward to the day Kerr overcomes all this.
"I just can't wait," he said. "I will be so happy when he's better, for him, and his family, and everybody that is close to him. ... He's a great human being, and my hope is that with this time off, we figure it out, the doctors figure it out, and he can get back to ... enjoying his life, and then coaching our team."
