Trackhouse Racing and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., announced that former Formula 1 and current FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) driver Magnussen will drive the No. 91 Qualcomm Chevrolet in the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego on June 21.

Magnussen will make his Cup Series debut in a few weeks at the Naval Base Coronado event in San Diego. Trackhouse will put the veteran driver in the team's No. 91 Chevrolet for this new event. Magnussen has spent the past couple seasons competing mainly in sportscar racing. He's a steady hand in street course type events but this will be his first time racing on a city street in a NASCAR Cup Series car. It will be interesting to see how Magnussen fares in this event.
