Esteban Ocon: 5-Second False Start Penalty
Ocon finished 15th the Qatar Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Lusail International Circuit on Sunday.
Analysis:
Ocon would line up P16 on the starting grid and he'd get around Yuki Tsunoda on the first lap. However, replays would show the Haas F1 veteran moving in his starting box prior to the lights out. The Stewards would slap Ocon with a 5-second penalty for a false start. He would stay out during the lap 7 safety car in which most of the field would pit. The hope was to grab easy track position up to P4 before conducting his own stop the next lap. Ocon would rejoin at the back and the gambit would not pay off. The veteran driver would claw his way past Pierre Gasly and later Lance Stroll to earn a 15th-place finish in Qatar.
