Vancouver adds Hannah Miller on 3-year deal
PWHL Vancouver signed free-agent forward Hannah Miller to a three-year contract, the team announced Monday.
Miller hails from North Vancouver, British Columbia.
"I'm truly honoured and very excited to be joining the team in Vancouver," Miller said. "It means so much to me to represent the city where I first fell in love with the game. It's a real full-circle moment, and I can't wait to meet all the fans and get started!"
Miller previously played for the Toronto Sceptres and registered 10 goals and 14 assists in 26 games during her sophomore season. Miller only trailed Daryl Watts for the most points on the Sceptres and had the sixth-most points in the league.
The 29-year-old tallied one goal and two assists in the Sceptres' four-game playoff run. Toronto ultimately lost to the Minnesota Frost for the second consecutive year.
"Hannah is an elite forward who can put up points and wear down opponents," PWHL Vancouver general manager Cara Gardner Morey said. "We are excited to bring her home to Vancouver to be part of our foundation."
Miller joins Sarah Nurse and Jenn Gardiner as part of PWHL Vancouver's offense. The Sceptres have now lost three forwards to the expansion franchise, with Miller, Nurse, and Izzy Daniel all headed to the West Coast.
