The Chicago Blackhawks loaned defenseman David Rundblad to the Zurich Lions of the Swiss League, the club announced Sunday.
Rundblad appeared in nine games this season, posting two assists while averaging 14:22 in ice time.
The 25-year-old was a first-round pick, 17th overall, of the St. Louis Blues in 2009, and has four goals and 21 assists in 113 career regular-season games with Chicago, the Ottawa Senators, and Arizona Coyotes.
Rundblad signed a two-year, $2.1-million contract extension last summer, and Chicago will reportedly be charged $100,000 against the salary cap for the loan.
