The Minnesota Wild claimed Jarret Stoll off waivers from the New York Rangers, the club announced Tuesday.

Stoll, who signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Blueshirts this past summer, recorded a goal and two assists in 29 games this season.

"It's the right time to add a player. Losing some of the guys we lost last summer, we lost some veteran depth," said general manager Chuck Fletcher. "We're very comfortable with where Jarret is as a player and as a person."

The 33-year-old brings 821 regular season games of experience to Minnesota, as well as three trips to the Stanley Cup Final and two championship rings. Prior to signing with the Rangers, Stoll had a felony drug charge dismissed and was sentenced to community service.
