To little surprise, Avalanche and Hurricanes players dominate the top of the betting board. Nathan MacKinnon is the current favorite at +275 with Frederik Andersen close behind at +475.

Carolina is the favorite at +140 to win the Stanley Cup with Colorado at +175. The playoff MVP is almost always on the title-winning team.

Since the Conn Smythe was first awarded in 1965, only six players have earned the honor without winning the Stanley Cup at the same time. Since 1988, only Connor McDavid (2024) and Jean-Sebastien Giguere (2003) have done so.

MacKinnon has 11 points in seven games, putting him second among all skaters in points per game. He's been Colorado's best player so far. With that said, Gabriel Landeskog is second on the team in points and is +10000 (bet $1 to win $100). If the Avs captain hoists the Stanley Cup while keeping up with MacKinnon in points, voters may be inclined to reward Landeskog for his perseverance through a knee injury that forced him to miss three regular seasons.

Meanwhile, Andersen has been lights out for the Hurricanes, who have yet to lose a playoff game. The Danish netminder has a 1.12 goals against average and a .950 save percentage with two shutouts in seven starts. If he keeps this up and the Hurricanes win it all, it's hard to envision a scenario where he doesn't win the Conn Smythe.

Jakub Dobes (+1800) is the first player listed on the oddsboard who isn't a member of either the Avs or Hurricanes. If neither of those teams wins the Stanley Cup, one of the current long shots will take home the Conn Smythe. The tricky part is figuring out which one.
