Ilya Bryzgalov clears waivers, faces uncertain future
It may be the end of the NHL's Bryz Era.
The veteran netminder posted a record of 1-4-1 with a 4.19 goals-against average and a .847 save percentage in his second stint with Anaheim. His services were no longer required with fellow goalies Frederik Andersen and John Gibson around.
The Ducks could send him to Norfolk, but Bryzgalov would have to accept the assignment if he wants to collect the remainder of his $1.92 million salary, as noted by Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register
Whatever the future holds, Bryzgalov surely won't be mad, because, after all, it's only hockey. Plus, he'll still be cashing in on his Philadelphia Flyers buyout for years to come.
