Johnson has filed for bankruptcy, the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis:
Piles of debt after years of financial mismanagement by Johnson's parents, to whom he'd given control of his earnings, have apparently left the defenseman with no other options. A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for January. Johnson has seven points, all assists, and an ugly minus-12 rating through 15 games but the latter is mostly due to the patchwork nature of the Jackets' lineup around him rather than his off-ice troubles.
