Flames, Curtis Glencross to discuss contract extension after Aug. 1
Curtis Glencross is hoping to nail down an extension with the Calgary Flames before entering the final season of his current deal.
In conversation with Sportsnet 960, the oft-injured 31-year-old revealed that the two sides will begin negotiations in the coming weeks.
"The plan is they want to get the ball rolling after the [Aug 1.] arbitration thing with [Joe] Colborne, and get to talking," Glencross said. "Hopefully we can hopefully get something done sooner rather than later, and not have to worry about a contract during the season."
Glencross remained productive in limited action last season, netting 12 goals and 24 points in 38 games.
He is entering the final season of a four-year, $10.2-million deal that will pay him $2.5 million in his seventh season with the Flames.
