The Edmonton Oilers placed forward Zach Hyman on injured reserve with a stiff neck, head coach Mike Babcock announced Wednesday.

Hyman suffered the injury in Monday's game against the Detroit Red Wings when his head banged against the glass on a hit from Andreas Englund.

The 34-year-old has notched one goal across six games this season. He missed the first six contests of the campaign while recovering from an upper-body injury sustained during the preseason.

Hyman tallied 31 goals and 52 points in 58 games last season.
