The Los Angeles Kings signed goaltender Cam Talbot to a one-year contract with a $1-million cap hit, the team announced Saturday.
He can also earn an additional $1 million in games played bonuses.
Talbot compiled a 17-14-2 record with the Ottawa Senators in 2022-23, posting a .898 save percentage and a 2.93 goals against average. The soon-to-be 36-year-old is coming off of a three-year contract signed in 2020 with the Minnesota Wild that carried a $3.67-million cap hit.
The Senators acquired Talbot last summer from the Wild for Filip Gustavsson.
Pheonix Copley is the lone netminder the Kings have under contract who played in the NHL last season. Joonas Korpisalo, who Los Angeles acquired prior to the trade deadline, became an unrestricted free agent Saturday. The Kings traded Cal Petersen to the Philadelphia Flyers in June.
Los Angeles had $4.5 million of cap space before the signing, per CapFriendly.
