Boston Bruins draft pick Jeremy Lauzon was cut in the neck during a QMJHL game Friday night.

The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defenseman was rushed to hospital after a collision behind the net in the first period of a playoff game against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

Lauzon was conscious and in stable condition in hospital, the Huskies announced.

The 18-year-old's representatives confirmed that he sustained a neck laceration. He's out of danger, but is still undergoing surgery Friday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.

Lauzon was selected 52nd overall by the Bruins in 2015.
