<p><a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/teams/6" href="http://www.thescore.com/nfl/teams/6">Kansas City Chiefs</a> cornerback <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/55391" href="http://www.thescore.com/nfl/players/55391">Marcus Peters</a> won Defensive Rookie of the Year at the NFL Honors awards show on Saturday.</p><p>Peters finished his rookie campaign tied for the league lead in interceptions with eight, helping lead the Chiefs on a 10-game winning streak to finish the season.</p><p>The <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///ncaaf/teams/699" href="http://www.thescore.com/ncaaf/teams/699">Washington</a> standout captured 45 of a potential 50 votes, with Buffalo Bills cornerback Ronald Darby and New York Jets defensive end Leonard Williams also getting votes.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>After a tumultuous junior season, Peters was dismissed from his college team for disciplinary reasons in November 2014. Despite his maturity issues the Chiefs sleceted him 18th overall in last April's draft.</p>
