Report: Buccaneers to place Garrett Gilkey on season-ending IR
Melina Vastola / USA TODAY Sports
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will place offensive lineman Garrett Gilkey on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in his team's preseason finale against the Miami Dolphins, reports Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune.
It's a significant blow to what is already one of the NFL's most suspect offensive lines.
Gilkey, who appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers last season, was among a group of players competing for a starting job protecting rookie passer Jameis Winston.
