Sean Taylor's killer sentenced to 57.5 years in jail
The convicted killer of former Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor was sentenced to 57.5 years in prison Thursday, David Ovalle of The Miami Herald reports.
The judge in the case described sentencing as the "worst part of our job" before declaring Taylor's killer, Eric Rivera Jr., must spend nearly six decades locked up.
A prosecutor described Rivera as a "sophisticated, manipulative criminal."
The 23-year-old Rivera shot Taylor during a botched 2007 robbery.
