Mere days after fans at Seattle's CenturyLink Field set a world record by cheering on the Seahawks to victory over the New Orleans Saints at a peak of 137.6 decibels, the San Francisco 49ers are simply hoping their fans cheer at the correct times.
In an email sent to 49ers fans ahead of Sunday's clash between the 49ers and Seahawks at Candlestick Park, the team politely asks those attending the game to wear red and be quiet when the home team has the ball and loud when the opponents do.
You know, basic football stuff. Stuff that any fan base should have learned literally decades ago. And stuff that Seahawks fans will love to mock.
There are details about specific, pre-planned cheers in the email, too. Frankly, the whole thing is reminiscent of the "Rams Rules" fiasco from a few years ago.
