Veteran wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk continued to alienate the San Francisco 49ers by praising another team on social media.
"I had a great Father's Day, and before I lay down and go to bed tonight, I just wanted to say: Go Commanders, go Commanders, man," Aiyuk said in a video posted on his Instagram story Sunday.
He added, "Raise Hail, take command, f--- you talking about."
Aiyuk's latest post comes a couple of weeks after he shared a video criticizing the 49ers and their handling of his current contract situation.
"You want to know why they really mad, though? They mad because they (are) stupid. They dumb," Aiyuk said in early June on Instagram. "They mad because they paid me $50 million in eight months and then voided my guarantees for 2027. And I'm about to be on a new team in 2027. They mad at (themselves) for real."
The 49ers actually voided the 2026 guarantees in Aiyuk's contract, worth around $27 million, after he skipped mandatory injury rehab sessions during the 2025 campaign.
Aiyuk is still under contract with the 49ers but hasn't participated in the team's offseason program and is expected to be released or traded this offseason. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have said Aiyuk has played his last snap in San Francisco.
The 28-year-old signed a four-year, $120-million extension in 2024 following contentious negotiations. He suffered a torn ACL seven games into that season and hasn't played since.
Washington and Aiyuk have been linked as a possible pairing over the last few months. Jayden Daniels, entering his third season as the Commanders' quarterback, is friends with Aiyuk dating back to their time together at Arizona State.
Aiyuk has been with the 49ers since they selected him in the first round of the 2020 draft. He has 4,305 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns in 69 career games.
