Report: Eagles owner met with Brown to hash out frustrations with offense

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie met with A.J. Brown to hash out the wide receiver's public frustration over his role in the offense, a senior team official told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.

The meeting took place at Thursday's practice and was facilitated by Eagles security chief Dom DiSandro.

Brown reportedly told Lurie he will stop complaining on social media, but he is still upset and wants to be utilized more in the offense. The meeting lasted 10 minutes and ended with a hug before Brown returned to practice.

The 28-year-old was in the spotlight this week after venting his annoyance with his lack of production this season on a Twitch stream, calling the current situation a "shit show."

Brown told reporters the following day that he wouldn't apologize for his comments and elaborated on what he meant during the stream.

"It's not just solely about my situation. I want to win, too," Brown said. "I think if we're really focused on winning and doing our job, we can't just keep slapping a Band-Aid over the defense doing their job and getting us out of trouble. At what point are we going to pick up our slack as an offense?

"That's what I'm getting at. ... You can't keep slapping a Band-Aid over that and expect to win late in the year and think you're going to go to that at the end of the year. It's not going to f-----g happen."

Philadelphia is 7-2 heading into its Sunday night contest against the Detroit Lions, but the passing game this season has left a lot to be desired. The Eagles rank 20th in passing success rate, according to Ben Baldwin's database, and Brown is on pace for his least productive season as a member of the squad.

Brown is under contract through the 2029 season after signing an extension in 2024. The three-time second-team All-Pro has 31 catches for 408 yards and three touchdowns in eight games this season.
