Report: Cardinals' Conner to undergo season-ending ankle surgery
Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner will undergo season-ending surgery on an ankle injury suffered Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Conner was carted to the locker room during Arizona's 16-15 loss. He went down after a rushing attempt in the third quarter and was officially ruled out minutes later.

Conner had nine carries for 22 yards before exiting. He entered Week 3 with 73 rushing yards and one touchdown.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Conner gained over 1,000 rushing yards each of the last two seasons.
Trey Benson carried the load with Conner sidelined, compiling 42 yards on 10 rushes. The second-year running back projects to serve as the starter for the rest of the season. Emari Demercado will likely see additional playing time, too.
