Eagles' Hurts playing through illness vs. Seahawks
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts started Monday's prime-time matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Eagles had downgraded Hurts to questionable Sunday due to an illness, and his ailment reportedly worsened last night. However, the star signal-caller was seen walking off the bus at Lumen Field.

Having Hurts on the field is massive for the Eagles, who suffered two straight blowout losses heading into Monday's game. The 25-year-old, who finished second for MVP in 2022, has completed 66.5% of his passes while tossing 3,192 yards and 19 touchdowns against 10 interceptions this season. He's added 460 yards and 12 TDs on the ground.
Hurts leads the NFL with four game-winning drives in 2023. Veteran Marcus Mariota will be his backup versus the Seahawks.
Seattle is also dealing with its own injury issues at quarterback, as Geno Smith is battling a groin issue. Smith is active for Week 15, but the Seahawks are starting Drew Lock.
